SCRAPPER'S DELIGHTS CHALLENGE BLOG!

OH FUN!!!  I have been selected for another Design Team!  YEAH!!!  It is for the fab Scrapper's Delights.  It is not only a challenge blog, but also Scrapper's Delights offers ADORABLE digis and other products!  I am so delighted to be a part of this fun group and design with their FAB digis!  They offer several challenges; for new releases and also for their regular twice a month challenge.  I will be designing with the twice a month challenge team.

The new release challenges are on their main page.  Their you will also find the page that leads to their store! The twice a month challenges can be found on their "Current Challenge" page.

My first challenge with them is #21 Pretty Pastels.  I wanted to do something a bit different from all the embellies of lace, ribbon and flowers.  I went for a more simple design with this adorable digi called "CU Beach Boy Digi Stamp 1".  Here is the result.

PLEASE come check out this great blog!  For digis and goodies, and of course the fun challenges!  Be inspired by the SUPER DT too.
What a GREAT place!

New Craft Project ~ Tray Pendant

Hello there.  I have a new project to share that was inspired by my butterfly experience, lol.  I had bought the supplies at the scrapbook convention a month ago and had not used them yet.  I was thinking about how I wanted to use them and thought these images were perfect!  They are called "Tray Pendants" and are SO EASY to make!

1. Size a picture to your pendant shape leaving space around the edges
(I used my paint program then printed the pic)
2.  Use the special glue glaze on the top plastic piece and adhere
3.  Let dry, then trim off excess edges
4.  Put a jewelers glue spot in the tray piece
5.  Lay in your picture piece and VOILA!!!

I really love how they came out!
Then I decided to make a special little gift box for each of them to
give to the gals.

So fun and so easy, and they make a GREAT gift!

Beautiful Butterflies!

This past weekend I spent a fantastic day with three fabulous sisters.  I am honored to be the fourth one, the "Sister By Choice!"  (SBC)  We spent the day at a beautiful place called "Butterfly Wonderland".  It is a huge exhibit on butterflies and includes a spectacular enclosure where they fly free, 22,000 of them!  Absolutely gorgeous.  They come from the Amazon and South America, and believe it or not, they fly them to the exhibit in specially made boxes by Federal Express.  They are in their chrysalis form, not yet hatched.  We saw some hatching and it was incredible.

I took so many pictures and they came out beautiful - all were taken on my cell phone!  I swear that camera is better than my regular good camera!

I wanted to thank the gals for such a fun time and decided to make each of them a card.  Each card was inspired by this wonderful day!

I know that the cards can never compare to the natural beauty of the real butterflies, but I know that they will appreciate my attempt!!!

Love you SISTERS!!!

I'm In Love With Fran-tage!

Happy hump day all.  It has been a busy past couple of days, but today was mine to do with what I pleased, lol!  So, of course I was card making.  I mentioned before that my Dad gave me $ for my birthday and I used some of it on new supplies.  I just discovered "Fran-tage", a chunky type of embossing powder made by Stampendous that gives a lovely look and texture.  It is has different colors mixed together and they are using it to get a real shabby chic look.  Ladies are especially using it on the Tilda cards.  ANYHOW, I ordered some in white, pink, blue, silver and gold.  Today I used the pink on an Easter card and I LOVE IT!  It gives such a nice effect!  I used it on die cut corners, a little butterfly and a bit around my image.  Looking at it now, I wish I had used it on the scallop circle around my image.

For my image I used a new set of Kitchen Sink Stamps called "3 Step Honey Bunny".  These stamps are amazing!  They are done in layers with your lightest color first, then darker layers on top of each other.  The results are lovely.

Here is a picture of what the Fran-tage looks like:

Maybe this has been around for quite a while, but it was really new and fun to me!  It was a great project and such a relaxing way to spend my afternoon.
Hugs, and enjoy the rest of your week!

Time To Relax

Hello all, thanx for stopping by!  This card I am posting is one of my favorites I have done.  I really like the bright colors and the image.  It was for a friend and it really helped to cheer her up.  I am posting it as a sample of my creations to apply for a DT position for Scrapper's Delights Challenges.  If you are looking for a DT position, drop by and go for it!

You know, I find it so hard to go back through all the cards that I have made and find one that is a favorite.  You are not quite sure what kind of card they are looking for.  I've done so many styles and am always trying new techniques.  Oh well, let's hope this one is a winner!

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges Challenge #61 Glitter & Lace

Greetings friends.  Well, it has been a hard time getting everything back into my computer and working properly.  I lost one of my favorite programs for my artwork.  I loaded the new version and it is not compatible with my other programs.  So many glitches like this - it's amazing I got anything accomplished, but, I did!  This is my card for CC&CC challenge #61 Glitter & Lace.  FUN!  As always I got glitter everywhere, lol!

Our sponsor for this challenge is a new one that I found.  I fell in love with the great images.  They are hand drawn by Mayzy Green and her blog is called Mazy Art.  Be sure to visit her site for some fun digi browsing.  I know you will fine something you love.

The name of my image is "Line Dancing", what a cutie!  I made a side step card and cut out the image to really make her pop!  The card base, cactus and wagon wheel are files from Silhouette.  I used glitter on her boots, buckle and hat, then on the cactus and side strip by the lace.

I hope you will join us over at CC&CC for this fun challenge.  Our DT has really done some amazing creations that I know will inspire you!  See you there!

Better Late Than Never!

The past two weeks have been a computer nightmare!  My hard drive died and created havoc in my life.  Thankfully they were able to retrieve nearly all my files - pictures, artwork, documents, etc.  BUT the BAD thing is, I have lost ALL my bookmarks for my online server.  That means every place I ever visited on the web that I saved the page is gone ~ card sites, tutorials and WORST OF ALL, ALL MY BLOG FRIENDS!!!  I am heartsick to say the least.  One good thing about this blog is that if you ever left a comment I can trace back to you!!!  So give me time to get caught up, there are a lot of things that still have to be done!

OK, with all that being said, here is our late, but current challenge at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges.  We are using a lovely color scheme:

Our fantastic sponsor is A Day For Daisies.  I love the images that Tammy creates, they are so soft and have so much emotion!  I used the image called "Music For Me" and I love it!

Please stop by and join us by making a card with these beautiful colors.  See you there!

I Need Your Opinion!

Hello friends.  I had a great morning yesterday.  I went to the Mesa Rubber Stamp Expo and boy did I have a good time!  It's so fun to see all the wonderful products out there for paper crafters.  Of course I bought a lot of goodies, mainly dies and some stamps.  But my favorite purchase is a set of watercolor pens.  I have never used them before, and have been wanting to try them.  I also got some stamps that are perfect to use with them.  I experimented with the colors and also the papers that I used with them.  Here is my question to  you.  Which result to your prefer, the plain paper or the watercolor paper?  It may just come down to personal preference, but I can't make up my mind!

                             Plain Paper               Watercolor Paper

I really like the texture of the watercolor paper, but the ink didn't touch all the surface of the paper.  But I think maybe it adds to the look.

Here is another one that I did on plain paper.

Please leave me a comment and sound off on what you think, and any experience that you have had with this technique!  I'd really love your input!

Happy Wednesday!  Half way through the week, and I'm sure a lot of you are anxious for the weekend.  One nice thing about being retired is that it's the weekend every day. Lots of time for card making!
Today's card is another birthday card for a friend.  She LOVES chickens, so here we go!  I have been having a lot of fun lately really using my Silhouette.  I LOVE THAT MACHINE!!!  I have so many cut files from My Scrap Chick - they have such a great variety of files to choose from, and their prices are so reasonable.  This is "Shirley" from a group of 3 cute chicks called "Shirley, Goodness & Mercy".

I hope the rest of your week flies by and that you have a GREAT weekend!

Special Day

Hello, and thanx so much for stopping by.  It's a lazy kind of day here today, no sun and it's nice and cool, love it!  Perfect day to get some cards made - but then, every day is a good day to make some cards, lol.  This one is for a family friend for her birthday.  I really like the paper combo on this one, and the die cut.  The overall effect is really lovely I think!

I just love using the paper roses, they are so soft and feminine.  I sure hope she likes it!

Sunflower Cow

I spent a nice Sunday afternoon making this cute card.  It was just for fun and I think I will send it to my daughter.  She loves sunflowers and cows, so I'm sure she will love it.
The sunflower and the grass were cut with my Silhouette, and what little coloring there is was done with my Copics.

It was a pleasant afternoon with a nice result.

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges #59

Time sure is flying past.  We are almost into March and I feel like we should still be in January!  It feels like our challenges at CC&CC are getting closer and closer together ~  I think I need to slow down!

This challenge we are doing a fun and easy one, Teddy Bears.  Everyone likes cute, little soft and cuddly teddies.  Our DT had a fun time with the great images we used from Ladybug Crafts Ink.  Stop by and see all the great things they have to offer.  Not only digis, but also lots goodies for crafting.

My digi is called "Baby Billie's Blanket".  I colored him with my Copics and cut him out to sit on the moon.  The moon is an SVG cut file from My Scrap Chick that I did on my Silhouette titled "Goodnight Moon".  I added some tiny, blue crystal stars and the sentiment.  It was such fun to put this card all together!

We would love to see you at CC&CC.  We have a whole new look too!  Not by choice, lol, but that's a loooooong story for another time!  Come join us and share your teddy bear love!

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges ~ #58

It's time again for another great challenge over at CC&CC!
If you are anything like me, you love putting all the finishing touches on your card projects.  Finding that perfect little "something" to make your design pop!  So get out your embellies because we are using
"One Button, One Bow, One Flower".

Our great new sponsor is Mel Jens Designs.  All the images are drawn by hand with lots of love by Melissa.  Be sure to check them out, they are so adorable!  The image I used is called "Chocolate Diva", so cute and so much fun to use.

I had such fun picking out my embellies.  It is a bit of a challenge to use just one flower!  I kept thinking I needed to add more.  So to balance it out I used a bigger flower.  I think it worked.

Come have some fun with us at CC&CC and use your button, bow and flower!

Just For You Valentine

I finally got all my Valentines done!  They will be in the mail tomorrow, yeah!  I really enjoyed doing them, lots of pinks, reds, hearts and flowers, fun!  On this card I used two new techniques that I came across.  1) Using vellum in my Cuddlebug and 2) Filigree hinged card.  For the vellum I used a rose patterned embossing file.  I cut out one of the extra roses to use on the inside of the card.  The hinged top of the card I really like.  You still see the lovely cutouts without having to mount it on a larger piece of paper, nice!

Give these a try, I think you will like the results!

Late Birthday

Life has been a bit hectic lately.  My Dad was in the hospital again, thankfully he is home now.  But the Dr. appointments seem to be never ending.  With being so busy I overlooked one of my cousin's birthdays.  Last night I took the time to make her a card.  I love these stamps from the set called "Furnished With Love" from Stampin Up.  They fit the occasion perfectly!

I really like this layout!  I have used is numerous times.  It's easy and has the clean and simple tailored look that I love.  For the lampshade I stamped it on the patterned paper to match.  The coloring was done with my Copics.

It's Friday and the start of the weekend.  Now I hope I can find some time to finish up my Valentine's!  Happy crafting everyone!
