Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges #80 Christmas

Greetings and Merry Christmas!
Of course we have to celebrate one of everyone's favorite holidays, Christmas.
We are very happy to have A Day For Daisies as our generous sponsor over at CC&CC.  I LOVE working with Tammy's images, they are beautiful!
When I was looking through all of her lovely images, I found this adorable one  and immediately knew I wanted to use it.  The theme of the card just popped into my head as soon as I saw her.  She is called "Can't Sleep".  I really like how it turned out.

I created this scene of a little girl staying up to see Santa.  The window and cat are die cuts.  I did the tree freehand and added all the decorations.  The little girl I printed out on the holly paper and cut out her pj's to add to the image.  The presents are hand cut from glitter paper and then I added the string bows.

We would love to have you join us for our Christmas challenge at CC&CC.  And while you are there, be sure to check out the great creations of our DT.  We have several new ladies who are so talented, and we are so happy to have them with us.  I am very proud of my team!  They are FAB!

Merry, Merry all!

Creative Knockouts #67 ~ Tis The Season

Merry, Merry everyone!  Time to celebrate this great holiday season.  So let's get in the mood with Creative Knockouts and their "Tis The Season" challenge.  Our great sponsor Inky Impressions gave us two great images to choose from, along with the sentiment.  I chose this little cutie called "Snow Kitten".

I used  die cuts for the tree and the background circle.  Then I dusted the tree with snow flocking, colored the kitten with Copics and a bit of Applique on her hat and skirt, added the sentiment, bow and snowflake.

Please join us for this great challenge, and be sure to check out out DT's creations.  They are FAB!

MERRY, MERRY!!!

More sad news . . .

I wanted to let you all know why my last two posts were late.
I had told you all that my father passed away on the 7th of November, but with the passing of his life we were so happy to have a new life on the way.  My daughter and her husband were expecting their first child.  Unfortunately they lost the baby this past week and we are all devastated to say the least.  She is recovering slowly, and we hope that when they try again they will be blessed with a lovely, healthy child.

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges #79 ~ Use A Charm

How about adding a charm to your card?!  That is the theme for our challenge over at CC&CC.  I chose to do a Thanksgiving card in which the design in the circle is a cut file that I  cut with my Silhouette.  For my charm I used a little gold cornucopia on a leaf under the bow.

We would really like you to join us for our fun challenge and see what kind of a charm you will use.  See you there!

Creative Knockout #65 ~ All That Glitters

I love the image that I got to use for this challenge at Creative Knockouts!  It is by The Paper Shelter and is just soooo cute!  She is called "Fantasy On Ice" and was a really pleasure to color with my Copics.  I framed her with a lovely die cut called "Frostyville Frame".  It is mounted on a layer of embossed snowflake paper that was dusted with Perfect Pearls, and then the glitter paper background.

The die cut on the inside is called "Snowflake Corner". and the sentiment is also a die cut.  It is done in a dark purple, but it looks black in the picture.

Please come join us at Creative Knockouts and show us
your glitter and bling!

Autumn Apples

I know it is Autumn, but for some folks I think Mother Nature just jumped right to Winter!  So much snow all around the country.  If you are in one of the hard hit areas, stay warm and safe!

Here in Phoenix it is finally cooling down - 71 degrees here today, really nice.  Over night the temperatures are down in the 50's making it really feel like Fall.  And this time of year is always my favorite.  The smell of wood smoke in the air, crisp days and juicy apples!  This card is a cut file from SVGcuts from a set called Autumn Box Cards, and was cut out by my Silhouette.  I love the way the layers pop up, it gives it such nice depth!  For mailing it all folds flat, but quickly just pops back up into shape.

This card made me hungry!  Time for a nice crispy apple!
Happy Crafting

Creative Knockouts #63 ~ Use A Banner

I had a lot of fun with this challenge at Creative Knockouts.  The theme of "Use A Banner" is a good one for me as I don't use them very often.  I don't know why, because I really like them!  So it was fun to come up with a design and incorporate the banner into it.

Our sponsor is the great Bugaboo, one of my all time favorites.  I used this pretty Autumn design titled "Jar - Autumn".  I colored the image with my Copic's, used tiny labels as my banner with leaves added to them and strung with dark brown cord.  Then I added the raffia and button bow.  The frame behind the image is cut with a die from dark brown burlap.

We would love to have you stop by and join us.  If you have never used a banner or not done one in a while, here is your chance to have some fun using one.  ALSO, be sure to visit the blogs of our great DT to be really inspired by some super creations!

On A Personal Note . . .

You may have noticed that I have not been around visiting my blogger friends much recently.  I was on a trip to Oregon to visit my daughter.  While there, my father became very ill and had to be admitted to intensive care.  He has been declining for some time and his body was failing.  Yesterday day I arrived home in time to be able to speak with him for a few hours while he was still cognizant.  He was in so much pain and suffering terribly.  The Dr.'s did all they could for him, but at 93 his poor body was shutting down.  He was placed in hospice late in the afternoon and and given the drugs he needed to be comfortable.  I left late in the evening and at 3:45 am this morning they called to tell me he had passed away.  It is hard, but he is not suffering any more.

On the bright side, I am so happy to announce I am going to be a GRANDMOTHER!  While visiting with with my daughter she found out, and we are all delighted!  The baby is due July 1, 1915.
The circle of life is a miraculous gift.

Creative Knockouts #54 ~ Happy Fall Y'all!

Hello friends.  We are about to enter my favorite season of the year, Autumn!  I love the smell of wood smoke in the air and the leaves changing colors.  To me it's "Mother Nature's" most beautiful season!

To celebrate this season we are doing a Fall challenge over at

We were free to choose any image we liked from our own collection, and I decided on this cute little guy from Dearie Dolls.  I love his adorable little round face and sweet smile!  The image also reminds me of playing in the falling leaves when I was a child, I loved it!

I colored him with my Copic's and mounted him on a die cut circle and frame.  The background is a variety of strips of Autumn papers.

Drop on by and visit us!  Our DT has done some fab creations for you that we hope you enjoy.  See you there!

For My Son-In-Law, Travis!

It doesn't seem that long ago I posted a card for Travis when he left for Alaska (but to my daughter it has seemed like AGES!).  He is coming home on September 13th, his birthday!  I made two cards for him, the first for my daughter to give him, and the second from me for his birthday.

Welcome Home

Happy Birthday

The airplane is a cut file from the Silhouette on line store.  I used it because Travis loves to fly.  He will be going up on his birthday.

Creative Knockouts #51 TAG IT!

Our theme for this challenge at Creative Knockouts is to use a tag.  I must admit, I don't do a lot of them, but when I do I sure enjoy creating them.  They can be used in so many ways; on a present, a gift bag, bottle of wine, on a card, the options have no limits!  For my tag I used this cute image given to us by our super sponsor  digistamps4joy.
They have a fab selection of images!  It's called "Bettie Bow", soooo adorable!  I made the tag and then applied it to a card.

Sunny Day

We are half way through the week and all is well at my home.  I'm sure some of you have seen in the media all the rain and flooding we are having here in Phoenix and surrounding areas.  What a mess!  I really feel sorry for the people having to deal with all the damage from the storms.  Hopefully they will get assistance to repair their homes.

Today's card is another for my Aunt Mary.  I ordered a new die cut by Creative Expressions called "Austrian Collection - Background", and I LOVE it.  It is so quick and easy to make a lovely card.  I am going to cut a bunch in different colors just to have them ready to work with.

Enjoy the rest of the week, the weekend is not too far away!
Hugs to all.

This card is entered in the following challenges:

Thinking of You Bouquet

Happy Friday everyone!  Time to have some fun over the weekend!  I have house guests arriving and I am thrilled to be sharing time with them.  I wanted to post this card before I get too busy!

It is hard as we get older to reconcile to the thought that life moves so fast.  Having recently put my Pop in a care facility has really been a wake up call for me.  Now he and both of his surviving sisters are in care facilities.  They are 94, and 92 years old, and Pop is 93.  I know that they enjoy receiving "snail mail" and like to set the cards out for a bit of cheer.  This card is for my Aunt Mary whom I adore.  When I was a child she sewed tons of doll clothes for my dolls, and also matching outfits for me!  She is a very talented seamstress, and still sews at 94!  Amazing!

I hope this brings a smile and a bit of sunshine to her day.

For My Dear Friend

It is always so hard when a friend is going through sorrows and sad times.  My SBC (Sister By Choice) if facing one of those times now.  In the past week she has lost a very dear friend, and yesterday she had to put her beloved kitty, Pippy, down.  It breaks my heart to see her dealing with these events.  She loves receiving my cards, so I did this one for her to let her know how much she is appreciated and that I am there for her as she always is for me.

I cut the "lattice" top piece on my Silhouette and laid it over a piece of flowered paper from my new pack called "Park Bench" by Fancy Pants Designs.  I hand made the flowers from punch pieces and added the flourishes and butterfly from a die cut.  Then I added the sentiment and the fancy pin.

Our friends are so important.  I cherish her friendship and am so thankful to have her in my life.  Let your friends know that you care ~ you never know when you may not be able to tell them how happy you are to have them in your life.

This challenge is a really different one for me ~ Christmas in July!  It was 116 degrees here today!!!  It sure as heck does NOT feel like Christmas!
But, none the less, I made a Christmas card for this fun challenge at Creative Knockouts.  Our super sponsor, Dilly Beans, generously let us choose our image, and I really liked this gal.  She was so fun to color!  She is called "Amalia's Christmas Present".
