Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges #85 Layout

Welcome to another challenge over at CC&CC.  We hope you enjoy using this great layout.  I really like it because it can be used for a clean and simple look, or dress it up for a more frilly look.  I chose the CAS.

Our sponsor is the FAB A Day For Daisies.  I LOVE their images drawn by Tammy Siemers Thompson.  I used this beauty called "Green Lady".  But I did not do her in green . . .

I colored her with my Copics, added some Frantage around her and mounted her on a die cut frame.  I used gold embossing for the lanterns and symbol.  I love the clean look of this card, no muss, no fuss, lol.

We would love to have you join us for this layout challenge.  I'm sure it will get your creative juices flowing!

Creative Knockouts # ~ Spots & Dots

Hello, so glad you stopped by.  Your visits mean a lot to me!

We are on to a new challenge at Creative Knockouts, and this time it is to use "Spots & Dots".  This cute image I used is from our sponsor Drawn With Character, and is called "Dancing Spring Chick".  When I saw this little cutie I immediately thought of Spring, Easter and polka dots, lol.

I had a lot of fun using a new paper pack called "Pebbles" by Family Ties.  My image was colored using my Copics and mounted on a die cut frame.  Then I added the flowers from my stash.

Why don't you come join us for this fun challenge and show us your
Spots & Dots ~ see you there!

Get It Right The First Time, LOL!

Welcome and happy Friday!
This card I am posting is for a sweet cousin of mine who just started a new job.  I know she will get a giggle from it.  I love these images by Bugaboo that are called Crabby Cathy.  They are so cute!  This one is called "
Crabby Cathy - first time" and was just what I needed.
For some reason I am on a polka dot kick!  I love them, and I really like to combine them with stripes, and I love this color combo!  I colored my image with my Copics and then added the sentiment and bow.

I hope you have a GREAT weekend and get a bit time to do
some crafting.  ENJOY!

Friends Are Like Thighs . .

Time for another card, and one that is not for my challenge blogs, lol.  I just purchased several new stamps and was so anxious to use this one.  It is by Stampingbella from their "Senior" collection with Mildred and Maud.  When I saw it it made me laugh out loud.  I knew I had to have it, and I had the perfect friend in mind to make it for.  It was a delight to work with!

It was colored with my Copics and I set it off with some really fun polka dot papers, and added the polka dot flower just for fun!  The sentiment just cracks me up!

Thanx for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your week.
Happy Crafting!

What's Cooking

Welcome to my bit of blog land.  I would like to share a card that I did that is a copy of one of my favorite carfters, KittyKraft.  Her work is absolutely incredible and ALWAYS inspires me.  I especially love this card because of its clean and simple look and the lovely striped paper she used.  You can see her original creation here.  This is my take on the same card.

I cut the chickens our with my Silhouette, used a border punch and added the little cooking utensils.  I like this card so much that I bought several sheets of paper that match each other to make more of them.  It's a great card to send to friends you haven't heard from in a while or just to say hi and ask what's up!

Here are the colors to use:

I gave the gals several color schemes to choose from and then we voted on our favorite.  This one won hands down!

My image is called Can Can Dancer Sally - TOO CUTE!

Creative Knockouts #73 ~ Lots Of Embellies

It's time for another great challenge over at Creative Knockouts!  This time we want you to pile on the goodies, LOTS of embellishments.  Now, I don't know about you, but for me, this is the hardest kind of card to make.  My style tends to to be on the less embellies side, lol!  So I really struggled with this card.  But, all in all it came out ok.  I like the soft colors and the roses (you can barely see them, lol!).

Our great sponsor is The Stamping Boutique.  They have a lovely variety of images.  Digis for any occasion.  Stop by and have a look.

The name of my image is "Crazy Dress".  It is so cute, and I don't find it crazy at all, lol.

I really envy you crafters who make this type of card.  It's not as easy as it looks!  It takes a lot of planning out, it is not just all piled on there anywhere!  So join us over at Creative Knockouts and give me lots of inspiration - because I need it!

Thinking Of You

What a lovely Sunday afternoon it is here to day.  After a bike ride outside I was off to work on some cards, yeah!

I am in LOVE with this technique!  I saw it over at Gina K's site, Stamp TV and I HAD to try it.  I love the results you can achieve, and it was so much fun.  It is called "Stained Glass Velum Technique"  (You can watch the video instructions here).  She did a lovely Christmas card and it inspired me to do this card.

It is for a dear friend that is going through the BIG "C", and I wanted to do something pretty for her.  I used silver embossing powder and colored the light purple and green on the flower with my Copics.

I really love the way it turned out - accept for one thing.  I wish I had stamped the sentiment with a dark purple ink instead of black.

Now I finally know what I want to do with the vellum that I purchased, LOL!  Give this a try, I know you will be glad you did.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Thanx for stopping by and hugs to all.

Welcome all.  It's time to share another challenge with you from CC&CC.  It's a simple one, just don't use any circles on your card!

Our sponsor is the great Rick St. Dennis.  His images are always so fun to work with.  I chose this cute little gal called "Euro Girl Easter Edna".  I need to get to work on some Easter cards, so this gives me a bit of a head start, lol!  I colored her with my Copics, used lots of glitter paper, a die cut piece and some pearls entwined with ribbon.

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges #80 Christmas

Greetings and Merry Christmas!
Of course we have to celebrate one of everyone's favorite holidays, Christmas.
We are very happy to have A Day For Daisies as our generous sponsor over at CC&CC.  I LOVE working with Tammy's images, they are beautiful!
When I was looking through all of her lovely images, I found this adorable one  and immediately knew I wanted to use it.  The theme of the card just popped into my head as soon as I saw her.  She is called "Can't Sleep".  I really like how it turned out.

I created this scene of a little girl staying up to see Santa.  The window and cat are die cuts.  I did the tree freehand and added all the decorations.  The little girl I printed out on the holly paper and cut out her pj's to add to the image.  The presents are hand cut from glitter paper and then I added the string bows.

We would love to have you join us for our Christmas challenge at CC&CC.  And while you are there, be sure to check out the great creations of our DT.  We have several new ladies who are so talented, and we are so happy to have them with us.  I am very proud of my team!  They are FAB!

Merry, Merry all!

Creative Knockouts #67 ~ Tis The Season

Merry, Merry everyone!  Time to celebrate this great holiday season.  So let's get in the mood with Creative Knockouts and their "Tis The Season" challenge.  Our great sponsor Inky Impressions gave us two great images to choose from, along with the sentiment.  I chose this little cutie called "Snow Kitten".

I used  die cuts for the tree and the background circle.  Then I dusted the tree with snow flocking, colored the kitten with Copics and a bit of Applique on her hat and skirt, added the sentiment, bow and snowflake.

Please join us for this great challenge, and be sure to check out out DT's creations.  They are FAB!

MERRY, MERRY!!!

More sad news . . .

I wanted to let you all know why my last two posts were late.
I had told you all that my father passed away on the 7th of November, but with the passing of his life we were so happy to have a new life on the way.  My daughter and her husband were expecting their first child.  Unfortunately they lost the baby this past week and we are all devastated to say the least.  She is recovering slowly, and we hope that when they try again they will be blessed with a lovely, healthy child.

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges #79 ~ Use A Charm

How about adding a charm to your card?!  That is the theme for our challenge over at CC&CC.  I chose to do a Thanksgiving card in which the design in the circle is a cut file that I  cut with my Silhouette.  For my charm I used a little gold cornucopia on a leaf under the bow.

We would really like you to join us for our fun challenge and see what kind of a charm you will use.  See you there!

Creative Knockout #65 ~ All That Glitters

I love the image that I got to use for this challenge at Creative Knockouts!  It is by The Paper Shelter and is just soooo cute!  She is called "Fantasy On Ice" and was a really pleasure to color with my Copics.  I framed her with a lovely die cut called "Frostyville Frame".  It is mounted on a layer of embossed snowflake paper that was dusted with Perfect Pearls, and then the glitter paper background.

The die cut on the inside is called "Snowflake Corner". and the sentiment is also a die cut.  It is done in a dark purple, but it looks black in the picture.

Please come join us at Creative Knockouts and show us
your glitter and bling!

Autumn Apples

I know it is Autumn, but for some folks I think Mother Nature just jumped right to Winter!  So much snow all around the country.  If you are in one of the hard hit areas, stay warm and safe!

Here in Phoenix it is finally cooling down - 71 degrees here today, really nice.  Over night the temperatures are down in the 50's making it really feel like Fall.  And this time of year is always my favorite.  The smell of wood smoke in the air, crisp days and juicy apples!  This card is a cut file from SVGcuts from a set called Autumn Box Cards, and was cut out by my Silhouette.  I love the way the layers pop up, it gives it such nice depth!  For mailing it all folds flat, but quickly just pops back up into shape.

This card made me hungry!  Time for a nice crispy apple!
Happy Crafting

Creative Knockouts #63 ~ Use A Banner

I had a lot of fun with this challenge at Creative Knockouts.  The theme of "Use A Banner" is a good one for me as I don't use them very often.  I don't know why, because I really like them!  So it was fun to come up with a design and incorporate the banner into it.

Our sponsor is the great Bugaboo, one of my all time favorites.  I used this pretty Autumn design titled "Jar - Autumn".  I colored the image with my Copic's, used tiny labels as my banner with leaves added to them and strung with dark brown cord.  Then I added the raffia and button bow.  The frame behind the image is cut with a die from dark brown burlap.

We would love to have you stop by and join us.  If you have never used a banner or not done one in a while, here is your chance to have some fun using one.  ALSO, be sure to visit the blogs of our great DT to be really inspired by some super creations!

Cards 4 Guyz ~ #44 Thanksgiving or Thankful

On A Personal Note . . .

You may have noticed that I have not been around visiting my blogger friends much recently.  I was on a trip to Oregon to visit my daughter.  While there, my father became very ill and had to be admitted to intensive care.  He has been declining for some time and his body was failing.  Yesterday day I arrived home in time to be able to speak with him for a few hours while he was still cognizant.  He was in so much pain and suffering terribly.  The Dr.'s did all they could for him, but at 93 his poor body was shutting down.  He was placed in hospice late in the afternoon and and given the drugs he needed to be comfortable.  I left late in the evening and at 3:45 am this morning they called to tell me he had passed away.  It is hard, but he is not suffering any more.

On the bright side, I am so happy to announce I am going to be a GRANDMOTHER!  While visiting with with my daughter she found out, and we are all delighted!  The baby is due July 1, 1915.
The circle of life is a miraculous gift.

Chocolate, Coffe & Cards Challenges #76 ~ For The Boys

Hi there, thanx for stopping by!  Time for another great challenge over at CC&CC.  We have a fun theme this time.  It's a chance for you to make a card for a boy or man.  We are being sponsored by the great Bugaboo Digi Stamps, and they graciously let us choose an image of our choice.  I decided on this cute "Guy Golfing".  He was colored with my Copics and I added some lettered brads that spell "golf".

We would love to have you join us for this challenge.  So head on over to CC&CC and show us your card for a guy!
