Parchment Craft Card #2

WOW!  I am hooked on this craft!  My new tools finally arrived from the "other side of the pond", and I couldn't wait to jump right in on a new project using the correct tools!  It is so much fun to me and very relaxing.  It reminds me of years ago when all I did was cross stitch.

It will be a lesson every time I work on a new piece of parchment.  Shading is so important and I will need to focus on that.  But the hardest part for me is using the perforation tool along the edges.  I used the "perforation tool" with the 2 needles closest together and it was really tough!  After looking at other pictures of projects other have done, it looks to me as if they were done with a regular 2 needle tool and then "snipped" between the tiny holes.  So next time, I will try that.  Here is today's result.

I have a loooong way to go, but I can't wait to be on the journey.  If any of you do parchment crafting and have any suggestions or special blogs that you like on this craft, I would welcome any input!

Thanx & hugs!

  3. Hi Joanne,
I'm so glad you've found this beautiful craft.
As Jackie has said, if you scroll right to the beginning of my blog I've left lots of hints and tips. You've made a fantastic start. Keep at it and if you want any help just email me at ambacrafts@aol.com and I'd be more than happy to try and help you.
Although the cutters make a job easy I find it neater to perforate and then cut with parchment scissors - takes a long time but a much better result.
Oh and don't throw your parchment scraps away - great for experimenting on!
