MY VERY 1ST SCRAPBOOK PAGE!!!

WOOOOO HOOOO!  I am SO JAZZZZZED!  I finally took the plunge and made my first, ever scrapbook page!  I have wanted to try it for so long, but was a bit apprehensive - not sure why, but I think it was because I new I'd be hooked!  AND I AM!  It was soooo fun, and a bit like making a card, but with a bigger "canvas"!  AND, am I ever glad for all the stash and goodies I've collected!  Having a big supply of embellishments really got me going!  Also got my Cricut to cut with the new computer, YEAH!  Only thing is, I still can't use my Design Studio program, so it was a bit of a challenge for me.  I am so used to being able to manipulate everything.

So, my page, lol!  It is not a full size 12x12, but measures 8x8 for an album I purchased.  It was great because it came with some coordinating papers and embellishments. ( I needed to start a bit slowly and grow as I learn.)  The title of the album is "Going Home" and is all pics from my recent trip to my hometown of York, PA.  This first pic is of my daughter, Mindi, my Aunt Meme and me.  Every time my cousin took our picture, she kept saying "say olive juice!" to make us smile!  Pretty soon we realized that on all the pics we are all puckered up and we just laughed and laughed!

I cut the flourishes with my Cricut from "Stretch Your Imagination", and all the rest of the embellishments were from my stash of collected goodies.  Fun, fun, fun!  I see now how great it is to have a picture that you love put onto a page to save for all time!  Look out, I'm on a roll!

MY POP'S 90th BIRTHDAY!

WOW, hard to believe, but my Dad turns 90 tomorrow!  I thought about doing a really sentimental card but then went in a completely different direction.  He really likes cards that make him smile or laugh.  I thought of these little guys, which I love and haven't used in a long time, and decided they fit the bill!  They are colored with Copics, raised with pop-dots and then I added the large old button and flower.  I know they will make him smile.

Happy Birthday Pop!

PUPPY BIRTHDAY

I love the layout for this card!  It's simple, but oh so pretty and fun to do!  It's for a challenge at "Willow Sketchie Challenge".  I used it to create a birthday card for a sweet friend.  The puppy stamp is colored with Copics, the sentiment is cut out with my Nestabilities, and the three silver pieces are buttons that I cut the back hoops off of.  The papers are from a pack that is called "My Grandmother's Kitchen" made by s.e.i.  They are such nice subtle hues of aqua and browns.

I also entered this card another great challenge and SUPER blog hop at DSYU Challenge Blog.  Check it out for a fun (puzzle) hop~!  Both challenges are great fun!

Here is the great layout:

ONE MORE EASTER CARD

Well, is everyone ready for Easter Sunday?  Are your eggs dyed and all the chocolate ready to go?!  I will be doing my eggs tomorrow.  I will miss all my friends in Hawaii this year. . .  We always got together and had a great egg dying party.  But onward I go.

This little chickie makes me smile.  I love the way he is popping out of his egg!  He was colored with Copics then cut out with Nestabilities.  The background paper is flocked where the chicks are and was a find at Micheal's.  The sentiment was stamped and layered.  Not much more but a bit of sheer ribbon added behind the stamped image and there you have it!

MOTHER'S DAY

Now that Easter cards are done, it's time to move on to Mother's Day!  My Mom passed away almost 5 years ago, but her sister is like my 2nd Mom.  She is a wonderful lady full of fun, laughter and a great positive attitude.  I always try to do really special cards for her because SHE is so special to me.  This card for her was one of those that was out of my comfort zone.  I wanted to do a "fussy" Tilda with lots of girly vibes, ribbons, lace, flowers, you get the picture!  But I am such a structured, tailored person and I find it hard to let loose!  I think I accomplished my goal on this one, lol.  (Maybe a little over the top!)

The stamp is colored with Copics, I used a corned punch on the edges of the image, inked the edges of the sentiment and added all the extra goodies.  I had a bit of trouble with the layout but managed to get it all together.  The longer I look at it, it really reminds me of Spring!

BUNNY IN A BASKET

Aloha all, hope everyone is having a good Monday, the start of another week.  I can't believe that Easter is this Sunday!  I have been scrambling to get my cards done.  I just got them all in the mail today and I hope they all arrive on time!

This happy little bunny make me smile.  He was colored with Copics, then I used my Nestabilites to cut him out.  I am a bit upset at the moment - I have a new lap top computer with Windows 7 and I can't get my Cricut Design Studio to work with it.  It sure limits my creativity!  So thank goodness for my Cuttlebug!  The sentiment is from my new set by "Stampendous" that I bought at Micheal's.  (I blocked out the letter "a" from the end.)  I know the set will get used a lot.  I used my Fiskar's "Bubbles" edge punch for one side and inked the edge, then added the two little flowers from my stash.  I entered this over at Dream Valley Challenges where their theme is Easter.  Have a good week everyone!

AM I BEING SELFISH?

Like most of you I'm sure, when you make your cards and paper crafting projects, they are usually made with someone special in mind.  I colored this adorable Sarah Kay stamp recently to practice what I learned in my Copic's class.  When I finished it, I was pleasantly surprised and pleased.  For some reason I really, really like  it.  Today I decided to put her on a card and was going to send it to my Aunt for Mother's Day.  BUT, instead, I fell it love with it and can't bear to part with it!!!  I've never done that before and I hope I am not being selfish.  I don't have another copy of the stamped image as it was from my class. so I can't do another one.  Oh dear, I feel guilty, but not guilty enough to send it!

GET WELL SOON!

Aloha, it's been quite a while since I have been on here.  The month of Feb. was a tough one with all my Dad's health issues, then a few of my own.  We were both thankfully well enough that I was able to go on a long planned three week trip!  I went to visit family in my home town of York, PA.  It had been over 30 yrs. since I had been there.  What a FUN trip it was.  Special time spent with all of them cheered my soul!  We were all over visiting places that I lovingly remember and new ones I have always wanted to see, pure delight!

Yesterday was my return to Phx. with Pop.  Unfortunately on that same day my dear, sweet Aunt who I stayed with had to have some surgery, and thankfully all is well.  But of course the first thing I did today was make her a special card.  I love this stamp, the cute little pills are hearts, perfect for her.  I colored it with Copics, and used my Nestabilities for the circle, adding a bit of ink to the edges.  A dash of ribbon to set it off and away it goes in the mail tomorrow!  Feel better real soon Meme!!!  xoxox
