EXPECTING!

TGIF!  A new weekend ahead and hopefully time for you to do some crafting!

Today's card is for my cousin's daughter who has a new little one due in November.  We don't know yet if it is a boy or a girl, but are anxious to find out!  She has an adorable little boy that is four, so she is hoping for a girl.  This is the sweetest stamp from Stamping Bella called "Baby Carriage Bella".   I colored her with my Copic's, used a border punch for the bottom edge below the bow (kind of hard to see) and hung a charm from the bow, then added some roses.  The papers are from a lovely stack called "The  French Country Stack" by DCWV.  I'm pleased with how this one came out.

No matter where you are, I hope you have super weather for a wonderful summer weekend!  Aloha!

CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & CARD CHALLENGES #16

Welcome to another great challenge!  This week it's fun and easy, ANYTHING GOES!!!  That's sweet an simple, lol!  Our sponsor this week is Crafty Sentiments.  I used this cute image called Rosie and Roxy, adorable.  I did it in monochromatic tones of peachy pink and made it a bit fussy and fancy.  Hope you like it!  Come joins at CC&CC for this fun challenge!

SURF'S UP!

Happy Monday and onward to a new week.  I hope yours is productive and a good one!

Today's card is for my BFF in Hawaii who I miss soooooo much!  She loves ducks, penguins and Snoopy.  I did this penguin for her to cheer her up.  I know it will bring a chuckle to her day.  The penguin and surfboard are a cut file from My Scrap Chick, it's one of their "Dollar Downloads" and is called Surfin' Penguin.  If you are looking for images for paper piecing, this place is the bomb!  The background papers are from a set called
Tahiti Beach Stack by DCWV.

RETIREMENT GUS

Happy weekend everyone, hope you are having a good one.  I am staying inside and keeping cool and working on some cards.  This one is for my cousin's husband who is retiring next week.  He is sooooo looking forward to it, and I understand why!  They are big beach people, so when I found this Bugaboo digi of Gus I knew I found the right image.  He cracks me up and I know that he will bring a smile to Steve's face too!
Happy Retirement Steve, well earned!

YOUR BIGGEST FAN

Here is another of the shaped cards that is one from the patterns that were in Paper Crafts Magazine.  There was a picture of it on their cover and it's adorable.  I turned the pattern into an SVG file so I could cut it with my Cricut (yes I still have the old software in my computer so I can do that!)  Here is how mine turned out.  I love the retro look of it!

A FINE ROMANCE

Here we are mid way through another week and summer is in full swing.  Hope you are having a good one!

Today I did another card for my sweetie.  He is really getting tired of being alone and I sure miss him too!  I decided to do something a bit more romantic to try and cheer him up.  I hope it doesn't make him more depressed!  The oval frame and the flourish leaves were cut with my Cuttlebug, and I also used it to the emboss background behind the couple.  The couple is a sihlouette cut cut with my Cricut.  It turned out to look a bit deco which I like.

I think this would make a good anniversary or wedding card.

See you again soon, and happy crafting!

FFROSTED DESIGNS CARD SKETCH TUESDAY #21

Welcome and thanx for stopping by!  Our talented Ann at Frosted Designs has provided another wonderful sketch for our 21st challenge!  Take a look.

I used shades of blue and did a stamp resist using clear embossing powder.  The stamps are ones I won in a previous challenge and I am really enjoying them.  I cut the circles with my Cuttlebug, added some fancy ribbon trim.  I hand printed the sentiment as my white ink just didn't show up very well on the dark blue paper.  It was an easy project and as always fun to do!

Come join us at Frosted Designs for a fun challenge and get
your mojo working!

SUMMER BEACH HATS

Good morning!  My posts for today are bright and colorful.  I received my latest issue of Paper Crafts Magazine and what a SUPER issue it is!  There was an article on "shaped" cards that included the patterns of some of them on their web page.  Well of course you can count me in for any freebies!  I imported the files and used them as SVG files and cut them out with my Cricut.  This one I used on a card instead of a shaped card on it's own.  I did two versions and plan on doing more.  They are so easy and have endless possibilities!

On the first one I used paper for the hat that was already embossed when purchased.  I added the inked edges. gathered ribbon and of course one of my paper flowers and a couple leaves.  The sentiment was computer generated and put on a frame cut with my Cuttlebug.

I told my daughter what I was making and she asked me to do one for her.  She requested the color combo of turquoise and yellow.  Here is what I came up with.

I embossed the turquoise paper for the hat in my Cuttlebug and all the rest is the same as on the first card.  They make me wish I was at home on my beloved island and was headed for the beach . . .

CHALLENGE 15 ~ CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & CARDS CHALLENGES

Here we go again!  Time for another fun challenge over at the super Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges.  This week our theme is "Coffee with Cream"!

Meaning use the colors of brown and cream.  We were given a choice of images to use by this week's generous sponsor, Delicous Doodles, and I chose an adorable coffee cup.  I decided with such a theme I had to honor our site and use some Java!  So, here we go!

The words "Java Jolt"  and the square were cut with my Cricut.  I used a copper color pen on the letters for a bit of shine.  I cut out some stamped coffee beans and added them.  The beans and  sentiment are from a stamp set I all ready had.  There is gold ink sponged on the brown paper behind the cup, and also around the edges of the base layer of the card.

OK, now it's your turn to show us what you can do!  See you there!

This card is entered in the challenge at Sisterhood Sundays.

SUNNY YELLOW

Aloha all, time for another card post.  I worked on some more flowers, no surprise!  I admit, I'm hooked!  All were made with svg files and a few punches.  The corners were done with a punch as was the butterfly.  I'm not sure why I like doing the flowers so much, I just do, lol.

Mahalo for stopping by, your visits are always appreciated!

PINK ROSES

I can't believe we are half way through the week!  This year is really flying by.  I'm ready for cool weather already, lol.  It's 104 degrees here today, ugh!  OK, no more complaining about the heat and on to more fun things, another card.  I am so into making my own paper flowers at the moment.  I made my own cut file that makes the round swirl piece to make roses.  It works really well and I have been busy making roses!  This was today's creation.  The background was embossed with my Cuttlebug, I added die cut pieces of  leaves and flourishes to set off the roses and also a cute little rhinestone butterfly.

Enjoy the rest of your week, it won't be long till another weekend will be here!

FFROSTED DESIGNS CARD SKETCH TUESDAY #20

Welcome to another Frosted Designs Card Sketch Tuesday!  And a BIG THANX to those of you who played along with us this past challenge.  Lovely entries by all!

This week Ann has come up a fun sketch I know you will enjoy.  It can be done as seen or flipped, your choice.  Lots of possibilities here!

I really liked the nice clean lines of this one and decided to keep it very simple.  I did an Asian design, one of my favorites to do.  I know I've said it before, but I really love the simplicity of this type of card.  I even kept the color to a minimum, using only red Copic's for the color.  I really like how it stands out with the black and white.

Please join us for a fun challenge and show us your creations!  You may even win a great prize offered this week by our sponsor Ginger Snap Scraps!
Good Luck!

FROSTED DESIGNS CARD SKETCH TUESDAY CHALLENGE #19

Aloha and E Komo Mai!

It's time for another great sketch at Frosted Designs to get your mojo working!  Ann Bacon came up with another wonderful sketch for us to work with.

We also were generously given a choice of great images to work with by this weeks sponsor, StitchyBear Digital Stamps.  Thanx so much!  I chose this cutie and it is called "Splash".

I had to "fudge just a smidgin on this one as my image was a bit to tall to use on a square, I hope I'm forgiven!  When I put it on a square, it was just too small, so onward to plan B and I used a rectangle.  I colored it with my Copics, used my Cricut to cut out the tiny rain boots and umbrellas.  The flowers are made from the background paper and were done with paper punches, and there is a bit of lace too.

I hope you can join us for this fun challenge,  Take some time out and craft a card using this FAB sketch!  Can't wait to see your take on this one!

1 IN A MILLION

The start of another week, yeah for Monday!  It's too hot to go out today so I am inside doing my favorite thing, crafting!  I did this card for my super Uncle who is still battling on with his cancer and health issues.  He has really amazed us all doing as well as he is, Thank God!  I thought he would get a smile from this one.

I cut out the image and raised it with pop dots.  It was colored with my Copics.  I added the cute sunglasses that I had in my goodie stash.  The sentiment was computer generated.

It's in the mail today and I hope he enjoys it, he is a FAB man!

SAVE $$$ ON MAKING SHAKER CARD!

Aloha all!  I'm Joanne and it's my turn to do a tutorial for Frosted Designs.

If you are anything like me, I am always looking for ways to save money on my crafting supplies!  Here is an easy one that you can do.  Instead of buying the plastic "bubble" pieces for making shaker cards, use the little plastic containers that brads, buttons, beads and such come in.

A few simple supplies you will need:
Small plastic pieces from brad container or such
Card stock
Two sided tape
Goodies for inside the shaker

1. Cut plastic piece apart (if it is more than one unit like the one in pic),  leaving small edges on each side

2. Cut main card piece (A), Cut backing (B) that will cover back of front card stock (C), Cut front card stock and the holes the size of your plastic shaker piece (C)

 3. Apply two sided tape to back of card stock (C) around open cut areas to secure your plastic shaker piece

4. Insert the plastic shakers and push down on them to secure to tape

5. Apply two sided tape on top of all edges of shaker pieces

6.  Fill shaker pieces with beads, glitter or your choice of goodie.

7.  Apply two sided tape around all edges of backing piece (B)

8.  Attach backing (B) to card stock (C) to cover the shaker pieces.

9. Decorate your card as you like

VOILA!  You have an ez-peezee shaker card!  Enjoy!

CHALLENGE 13 ~ CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & CARDS CHALLENGES

UH-OH!!!  Shame on me, I forgot to link up my DT card for yesterdays challenge at CC&CC!!!!  Life got away from me, my apologies!!

This week our theme is "For The Boys" sponsored by the great Dearie Dolls and I used this image called "Boy With Frogs"  Love this one, it's so cute and I adore the frogs!  I kept the card simple as I wanted it  for a "guy" birthday card.  I colored it with my Copic's, used my Cuttlebug for the textured background paper, added the wide polka dot ribbon and the cute metal square letters.

Now hop like a frog and get on over to CC&CC and join us for
this fun challenge!

OWL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

TGIF!  I bet you are happy for that, as the work week for many can seem very long!

Today's card is for my sweetie who is alone in Hawaii holding down the fort.  I really miss him and decided to do another card for him.  He loves getting mail!  The inside of this one says. "Owl Always Love You".  The owl was printed in brown ink then colored with a bit of Copics.  The circles were cut with my Cuttlebug.  A touch of ribbon and that was it!

Enjoy your weekend, I hope your weather is nice and the sun is shining!

Happy Mother's Day

To all of my friends and followers I wish all of you a lovely Mother's Day!

This card is simple and clean, not a lot of fussy details.  I love the stamp, it reminds me of endless days by the sea when I was a child ~ and still as an adult.  There is something about the ocean that always soothes my soul.

WINE & A GOOD FRIEND!

Do you have a fave TV show that you just can't wait to watch from week to week?  One of mine is "Revenge" at 9 pm every Wednesday evening.  Well, yesterday, it was Wed. and in the early evening a huge wind and rain storm hit Phoenix and knocked out our power ~ OH NO, it's almost 9 and I can't watch my program, AAAAAHHHHHH!  I was rescued by my SBC (sister by choice!), the sweet Betsy.  I grabbed a bottle of wine and headed over to her place and we watched it together ~ she loves it as much as I do!  So of course today I HAD to make her a special "thanx" card for the fun time we had!

We had so much fun and enjoyed it so much that we decided we need to make it a weekly habit!  Love you girl!

BIRTHDAY WISHES

The start of another new week!  I started mine off with doing some cards for May Birthdays.  I have really enjoyed working with my flower punches and flower pieces cut with my Cricut.  I put some of them to use on this card.

The background paper was embossed with a folder in my Cuttlebug, and the lacy frame is a brand new one I ordered and just received, I love it.  It's called "Oval Decorative Daisy" and is by Die-namics.

Hope that summer is headed your way and you can get out and enjoy
some real flowers!  Have a great week!

CHALLENGE 12 ~ CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & CARDS CHALLENGES

Happy FRIDAY all!

First off I want to say MAHALO for the FAB group of entries we had this past challenge!  We are so happy to have you join us, and to see lots of you who come every challenge!  You must be spreading the word because we have visitors from all over the globe, SUPER!!!

If you are ready for some relaxing time crafting over the weekend, here is a great challenge for you.  Over at Chocolate, Coffee & Card Challenges we have a fun theme for you, this great sketch:

I REALLY enjoyed this layout, I know I'll be using it again real soon!

Our super sponsor this week is one of my absolute favorites, Bugaboo Stamps!  Their images never disappoint!  And so many great images to choose from.  I chose this adorable little gal called "Girl Flower Sitter".  (The wall she is sitting on is another stamp I have, and I decided to sit her on it to give it a bit more balance.)  She is colored with my Copic's, and I added the layers with a bit of solid background paper to give it some punch and zip!  The flowers were all done using paper punches, then I added pearls from my stash.  Also there are two layers of ribbon under the larger flowers.  All in all I was very pleased with this one.  I think it will be used for a Mother's Day card for my Aunt!

So grab a cuppa, relax and get your mojo working!  Have fun with this awesome sketch!
