Good morning! My posts for today are bright and colorful. I received my latest issue of Paper Crafts Magazine and what a SUPER issue it is! There was an article on "shaped" cards that included the patterns of some of them on their web page. Well of course you can count me in for any freebies! I imported the files and used them as SVG files and cut them out with my Cricut. This one I used on a card instead of a shaped card on it's own. I did two versions and plan on doing more. They are so easy and have endless possibilities!
On the first one I used paper for the hat that was already embossed when purchased. I added the inked edges. gathered ribbon and of course one of my paper flowers and a couple leaves. The sentiment was computer generated and put on a frame cut with my Cuttlebug.
I told my daughter what I was making and she asked me to do one for her. She requested the color combo of turquoise and yellow. Here is what I came up with.
I embossed the turquoise paper for the hat in my Cuttlebug and all the rest is the same as on the first card. They make me wish I was at home on my beloved island and was headed for the beach . . .
Aloha, Joanne! Oooh these are fantastic, so girlie and fun. I love how used embossed paper like the texture of hat fabric, and the way you've inked round the hats and dressed them up with fab ribbons.
ReplyDeleteNow, I had to giggle at you publishing your other post too soon and having to delete it....i did the same thing this week! (although by accidentally clicking the publish button instead of saved). It means I can look forward to seeing that card again soon.
Mahalo and Thanks so so much for your support and wonderful comments on my cards and colouring, petal, it really means a lot to me and gives me some much-needed confidence. I have a little tute coming up which you might like, just need to finish the typing.
have a lovely weekend, CoB
